Meghan Markle vuelve a romper normas y tradiciones en la casa real británica. La duquesa de Sussex se ha convertido en editora de la revista Vogue en su edición especial de septiembre, dedicado al feminismo y llamado "las fuerzas del cambio". El número está protagonizado por las 15 mujeres que más admira la esposa del príncipe Harry.

La ex actriz ha dado las gracias a la publicación por confiar en ella para este proyecto: "Ha sido gratificante, educativa e inspiradora. Para profundizar en este proceso, trabajando tranquilamente entre bastidores durante tantos meses, me complace poder compartir lo que hemos creado. Un gran agradecimiento a todos los amigos que me apoyaron en este esfuerzo, prestando su tiempo y energía para ayudar dentro de estas páginas y en la portada. Gracias por decir "¡Sí!". For the past seven months, The Duchess has curated the content with British Vogue's Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful to create an issue that highlights the power of the collective. La revista, que saldrá a la venta el próximo 2 de agosto, cuenta con 15 mujeres "unidas por su valentía rompiendo barreras". "Estos últimos siete meses han sido un proceso gratificante (...) Para tomar la edición más leída del año y dirigir su enfoque hacia valores, causas y personas que están teniendo un impacto en el mundo de hoy (...) A través de esta óptica espero que sientan la fuerza colectiva en la selección diversa de las mujeres escogidas para la portada", añadía.

Una de las mujeres que más inspiran a Meghan es la ex primera dama estadounidense Michelle Obama, con quien mantuvo "una sincera conversación" que estará entre las páginas de la revista. Además, aparecerán otras importantes mujeres como la primera ministra neozelandesa, Jacinda Ardern, la actrices y activistas Jane Fonda y Salma Hayek, así como la joven activista contra el cambio climático Greta Thunberg.

A sneak peek of the #ForcesForChange video for the September Issue of @BritishVogue. Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Sussex is the first Guest Editor for British Vogue's September Issue and for the last seven months has worked to create an issue of inclusivity and inspiration, focusing on what connects us rather than what divides us. Fifteen women were chosen for the cover including New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who generously lent her time to support The Duchess in this important issue. The women first met last autumn during Their Royal Highness' official tour of New Zealand. Above, PM Ardern says: "One change that I've noticed over the course of my career, is just how polarised the world is now. I do think there is a solution to that though, and that's ultimately us coming back to the humanity that we all share." Thank you PM Ardern for being an amazing force for change. A raíz de este trabajo de Markle para Vogue, una fuente de palacio ha apuntado que la colaboración de la duquesa con la revista dirigida por Anna Wintour podría prolongarse en el tiempo: "La duquesa quiere que su trabajo en Vogue no sea solo una sesión de fotos superficial. Por el contrario, quiere usarla como plataforma para difundir mensajes. Ella está trabajando con Vogue como editora colaboradora en unas cuantas historias fabulosas sobre las causas que le son cercanas", explicaba a medios americanos.
